The bills cover areas such as veterans affairs, agriculture, military construction, and the FDA, while the congressional appropriations bill will be voted on separately. Meanwhile, the Senate is also in discussions with the White House regarding over 150 of Trump's pending nominations, with Democrats possibly considering a trade to expedite the confirmation of some nominations in exchange for the release of government funds they claim are being illegally withheld. Trump has requested that the Senate "not adjourn until the nominations are approved."
