New Head of Financial Regulation in South Korea: Fully Promoting the Construction of the Digital Asset Ecosystem

On August 16th (UTC+8), Lee Chan-jin, the newly appointed head of the Financial Supervisory Service of South Korea, stated in his inauguration speech that he will fully promote the construction of the digital asset ecosystem and provide sufficient legal and institutional support. He emphasized that the financial sector will ensure the safe application of artificial intelligence (AI) and will actively introduce new technologies to participate in the wave of innovation, laying the foundation for industrial upgrading. Lee Chan-jin pointed out that the financial industry should become a core growth driver while supporting the national economic transformation.
