One of the main goals of Bitcoin Layer-2 is to increase the capacity of the Bitcoin network to accommodate larger volumes of transactions.
Typically, off-chain processing components are used in the Bitcoin Layer-2 protocol to overcome the performance and cost limitations of the Bitcoin Layer-1 network.
